Screaming for Relief: Calling all Sports and Concert Fans! |
|
 |
What do you call a fan who screams for the team a little too loudly? A hoarse fan! Sound like you? Then listen up. Here are 3 tips to help you protect your throat from minor irritation during events where you’re likely to whoop, hoop and holler.
1. Keep throat drops in your pocket
Sometimes, big relief comes in small packages. Next time you go to a concert where you know you’re going to be singing along, pack a few throat drops in your pocket. Not only will they help soothe your throat, you can hand them out to all your friends.
2. Limit alcohol & caffeine intake and drink plenty of water |
Alcohol and caffeine can cause your throat to dry out. It’s best to limit or avoid them all together at the big game. Instead, drink water. Water helps keep you hydrated. After all, your team is depending on you.
3. Try not to overuse your voice
Concerts and sporting events are noisy by nature. Even asking the guy next to you to get off your foot requires a loud—and persistent—voice. If you’re not careful, you may find you have no voice left to yell out song requests during the band’s encore. Or worse, your throat may get too irritated to scream for victory during your team’s final big score. Think about it: Isn’t that why they had to invent those big foam fingers?
